Delhi News: After the increase in the number of corona patients in South India for more than two months, now there are signs of increase in Covid infection in some states of North India. For the first time since May 2023, on March 5, the number of daily patients in Delhi crossed 50.
Signs of increase in Corona cases started last March. Reached its peak in mid-April. On April 19, more than 12,500 cases were reported in India. This time, with the beginning of winter i.e. (December-January), Corona cases increased again, but the number of patients was very less. The highest daily count during this surge was 841 recorded across India on December 30. At that time most of the Covid cases were being reported from South Indian states including Kerala.
Signs of growth in UP, Bihar and Rajasthan also
Now Covid cases are increasing in some states of North India. Apart from Delhi and Rajasthan, the number is also increasing in UP and Bihar. According to the Union Health Ministry, only 12 cases were registered in UP in the period of 15 days from January 20 to February 4. In the next fortnight (4 February-19 February) it increased to 36. Reached 164 between February 19 and March 5. Similarly, the cases found in Bihar have increased from 14 to 103 in the last fortnight.
Increase in the number of patients is normal
In contrast, in Karnataka, where cases had increased recently, the infection seems to be decreasing. 268 new cases were reported, down from 959 in the latest 15-day period. However, the number of cases in Maharashtra has remained more or less stable in the last three fortnight. Covid experts say that the increase in infections during the last two fortnight is normal and expected. At present there is no information about the virus strain spreading in the northern states.
